A Letter from the Principal...

Homestead Elementary School:  Where Children Love to Learn

The staff of Homestead Elementary School believes in inspiring all students to think, to learn, to achieve and to care. We work collaboratively with one another to provide students a well-balanced education. Homestead provides a nurturing environment where students feel respected, valued and safe. We are committed to using varied instructional strategies focused on helping all students succeed. These strategies are based on best practice and include direct instruction to enhance skill attainment, project opportunities for skill application and homework to reinforce classroom learning.

We believe students learn best in a nurturing atmosphere where they:

  • feel respected, valued, and safe
  • have positive parental support
  • are given high standards and clear expectations
  • are provided a structured environment that encourages creativity
  • have opportunities to make choices
  • help each other achieve goals
  • take responsibility for their own learning

Last, but certainly not least, we celebrate student accomplishments. Not surprisingly, we do a lot of celebrating at Homestead Elementary.
